E-tivity 6 - Podcasts!

Every Wednesday I feel more and more ignorant... But as I survived to feeds, now I have to understand how podcasts work! ;p
It was difficult to find a good website with podcasts; some of them weren't free (or at least I think so!) and other were very badly organized, so that I wasn't able to understand if they really contains podcasts or if they are just links!

Anyway, I've got my three subscriptions now! And my feeds and my posts and eveything!
  • The first website I found is ESL Pod; in my opinion this is the best website I subscribed to... It is well organized, easy to explore and cointains many podcasts about different topics. There is only one thing wrong: the podcasts I listened to are very simple and slow...
  • The second is Business English Pod, found in Odeo; it seems very interesting from a professional point of view because I found many podcasts about business travels, customer services, strategical language and more.
  • The last one, Podcasting News, is full of podcasts about various subjects (music, radio, and many more) and it's not stritly connected with English learning.
Finally, I didn't find this e-tivity very time-demanding and I enjoyed it because I was totally unfamiliar with podcasts.

Eh up Anna!u wrote that every day u fell more and more ignorant...well....do not worry about it, I think u're not the only one, as long as u ask me how's goin' with this tool. I dont be sure if the podcasts I found out are good, I think they're. I noticed u chose a pod which regards business English, well, I did the same choice but I didnt found it in "odeo". Do u think business english will be useful for us?
catch u later!

Hi Anna. I feel every day more and more intelligent but it's a problem of mine. I'm downloading some podcasts from the first site u put. I think they're useful anyway for listening activities. Actually there's something not clear about podcasts. Free Videos on the Internet can be considered podcasts? Or is this definition just for particular video files? Ok, see you soon!!!

I think that a podcast can be an audio or a video file as well...but I'm not sure!
However, you said that you didn't find this e-tivity very time demanding... well, in my post I wrote exactly the opposite, but it doesn't matter! The first website you chose is the same I chose, so I visited the third one...I found it well done and interesting, since the podcasts aren't related with English learning.
That's all!
See you on Wednesday!

Bye, Sara

Hi Anna,
I listened to a podcasts in ESL Pod and I agree with what you said about this website: it's really well structured, easy to understand and provides a lot of good materials and explanations. I visited Podcasting news and I've seen that it offers a lot of podcasts about any subsjects and above all at normal speed! Niko's question drew my attention: I think that free videos on Internet are considered podcasts, but I don't know if this label can be applied to every kind of videos... what do you think about it?
See you soon,
Elisa
